Is there a chance that I might not qualify for reverse mortgage?

I am a homeowner over the age of 62. Is there any loophole that may prevent me from getting a reverse mortgage through AAG?

"You certainly meet two of our requirements for a reverse mortgage, but there are a couple of additional factors to take into account. You're correct in saying that age and ownership are important, but you must also live in the property you wish to reverse mortgage, so it can't be a holiday home or an income property, and you can't move out of it for more than 12 months. Also, the amount we can loan to you is dependant on your age, the current interest rates and the value of your property. If you have an existing mortgage, we look at the size of the remaining mortgage balance versus the value of your home. If you owe too much to make a reverse mortgage feasible, you may not be eligible. The best way to see if we can help you is to call in and speak with one of the team here. We'll be delighted to speak with you, and we sincerely hope we can assist you to make the right decision for you.
